The firmware update has already started rolling out for Nokia N9 smartphone. The latest software update PR1.3 has fixed several bug issues and has considerably improved the performance. It is definitely a stitch in time development from Nokia for retaining the popularity of the device among the users.
As far as the changes which are visible with this device from the firmware update, users will be from now on able to upload the files directly from that of the default browser. The video decoding feature has also undergone some improvement. Another significant improvement that is in place is the user interface. User interface is now a lot smoother and easier with this firmware update on Nokia N9. Now users can easily identify the beep profile in the status bar and standby screen by means of the implementation of an icon. Users can enjoy enhanced wireless network connectivity that is faster too than before with this software update.
There is also now a fix in place for choppy video playback. The device was also having another bug in which a single song was listed almost five times in the ‘All Songs’ list. That bug is also now fixed with this update. The swipe resistance issue in the RSS reader app has also been taken care of in this new firmware version. The PR1.3 update has also provided a solution to the security issue in Inception 0.1.
Renaming has also been done for the ‘Fenix not responding’ message. It will be from now on displayed as ‘Mail not responding’. Now with this software update in Nokia N9, the Swype keyboard works properly in the terminal if compared to the earlier version. The widget for themusic player on the lockscreen also looks better with the bright coloured wallpaper.
New fonts have been added, and the indoor positioning of the Nokia app is now a lot quicker. Notification screen for the weather widget has a clean and transparent background. Users can also now precisely use the copy and paste functionality. Another bug issue that has been fixed includes the one for Nokia Music Store payment. The Twitter application that is present in Nokia N9 now supports the timeline & mentions streaming with this software update.

Nokia Lumia 610 launched in India


Nokia Lumia 610 launched in India for Rs 12,999



As we reported yesterday, Nokia has launched the Lumia 610 smartphone in India. The Windows Phone based device is priced at Rs 12,999. The handset was announced in February at theMobile World Congress. India is one among the countries to get the handset at first.
Speaking about the specifications, the Lumia 610 smartphone is based on the Windows Phone Tango operating system. It comes with an 800 MHz processor, 8 GB internal memory and 256 MB RAM. The handset features a 5 MP camera as well.
The Lumia 610 comes preloaded with Nokia apps like Music, Maps and Drive. It comes in four different color options like Cyan, Magenta, Black and White.
Earlier, the handset was reported to be launched in April for a price in India of Rs 11,000. Then, the firm mentioned that it will launch the Lumia 610 and 900 handsets in late July or early August. But, it seems to have released it well before its expected time.
