RIM discontinues 16 GB BlackBerry
Playbook
Research In Motion (RIM) has decided to
discontinue the cheapest variant of its BlackBerry PlayBook Tablet. Now the
company will only manufacture 32 GB and 64 GB variants of the tablet. These 32
GB and 64 GB models of the BlackBerry PlayBook will continue to be available
from our distributors and retailers around the world. The reason for
discontinuation of the 16 GB variant of BlackBerry Playbook is the upcoming 4G
variant. It has been stated by RIM's chief executive officer that 4G version of
the BlackBerry PlayBook is due for a launch before the end of this year. This
4G version of the BlackBerry PlayBook will feature 1.5 GHz processor along with
faster graphic processor. The features and display will remain same as 7 inch
capacitive one with a 1024 x 600 pixel resolution.
