ICS 4.0.3 update for Sony S & P Tablets
Sony is in the pursuit of enriching
all its popular gadgets with the latest ICS version. As a part of this
strategy, there were indications from the beginning of this year itself on the
possibility of Sony Tablets S & P getting an ICS update.
Sony S tablet
tasted ICS update by April, but update of tablet P was delayed. Now it is
confirmed that tablet P also receives ICS update but only in selected markets.
Sony tablets S and P will now have official update version of Android ICS 4.0.3
now.
There are obviously features,
improvements and bug fixes which will come along with this ICS update. The ICS
4.0.3 build will bring a new UI to S and P tablets offering various user
friendly features. Using ‘drop and drag’ gestures, users can now create
folders.
The unused applications can be
easily swiped off from the display screen to improve memory utilization and processing efficiency. Web browsing
experience will also improve as it will now allow you to toggle between mobile
and desktop, and even pages can be set for viewing offline.
The new features with these Sony Tablets S & P include
accessing and storing data from an SD card. With the “Small Apps” update,
frequently used applications are placed on the top screen for easy access. With
“always on top launcher” icon, Calculator apps, Remote Control etc are placed
within instant reach.
There are options to quickly bring a
website, change TV channels, or calculations while leavingthe tablet behind for other
purposes. Likewise the system performance is improved with enhanced
multitasking capabilities. With improved image editing features, you have
better camera specs, as well. The photos can be viewed with a new choice of
slide show option.
Sony tablet P owners have already
started receiving the update alerts and they can easily install it OTA. Apart
from the rich taste of ICS update which is made available free of cost, tablet
P and S users are now eligible to receive a free copy of the game Super
Stardust too from the PlayStation Store, as well. Sony has definitely come a
long way in integrating its offerings and
services to make the life better for consumers.
